The way water feels on skin. Sept 29th, 2011

When I’m in it
I’m transparent
Surrounded by a terrifying abyss
A lost world
And a lost cause
A fear waiting to pop out
To show its ugly head
And maybe bite mine off
To suck me into a black hole where I become spaghettified

Spaghettification:  where I’m no longer whole but long
Long and noddle-y
Like the notes that have no direction in a song
I become directionless
Forever gone
Never again to find my ankle-deep

Where I feel safe
Weightless on the surface
Peering down to miniature cities and fish eyes
Conch cross-roads and fans
And little homes and sea junk
And statues of memories looking up wanting to touch
To reach up and be touched

Solid stone mermaids waiting for solitude so they can be alive again
And pearls hidden and found then lost
And lions devouring the innocent
hiding with the guilty with a memory like mine
Never forgetting my last attempt to capture and devour
I am the predator in the shallow
In the deep I am prey
Teetering on the edge of fear
dancing with my spirit and touching God

On the edge of the abyss I touched God
I touched creation
And love
And depth disappeared
No more shallow
no more black holes
Just blue colourful blurs and space
Presence and pure existence
A capture of myself
Only the sound of cardiac cycles and aquatic respiration
Transparent and one
Liquid and solid
Reaching out to be touched

God looked at me and we danced
Forever in a minute
A century
In the bloody bay of my home
My childhood
My present and my future

No more depth
perception
perspective or deception

Just a transparent miracle
A pure moment
A water gift
A gift from God

ONE A DAYS WRITING CHALANGE!

You'll get a prompt, and then you have to write non-stop for 15 minutes.  Set a timer.

RULES:

1.  Keep your hand moving.
Remember your writing hand is the creator; your other hand is the editor. If you keep the creative hand moving, the editing hand can't get a word in edgewise.  This is important for writing practice.  It gives the creator more space to create.  The editor has no place in writing practice.

2.  Lose control.
Say what you want to say.  Forget about structure, rules and "being nice."  The more you lose control, the more authentic your writing becomes.  Go for it, then go for some more.

3.  Be specific.
By naming things you are more deeply in the present.  You honor people, places and things by naming them.  The more specific your description, the more life your writing has.  Picture the detail, especially as you perceive it through your five senses, and write it down.

4. Don't think
First thoughts hold the truth.  First thoughts are unencumbered by ego.  Write them.  Second thoughts are caution, editing, considering.  Re-thinking.  Go with the first flash of truth.

5.  Don't worry about spelling, punctuation, grammar or syntax.
In fact, don't worry about anything.  Just write.

6.  You are free to write the worst junk in America.
Some days you will.  And some days you'll write something really wonderful.  And sometimes you'll just write.

7.  Go for the jugular.
If something scary comes up, go for it.  That's where the energy is.  Write through your tears, your anger, all those fears.  Go for the real stuff.  If you don't, your writing will be tiptoeing nervously around whatever your real stuff is.

PROMPT:  The way water feels on skin

Now start the timer...and write.

almost i'm thinking

  • every day an experience, that in which people are linked,in some small way. to help personalize : you go to a store or bar, etc. ,you see a car with its lights on ,what do you do? you go into the place your going into and tell some -one. these small little steps of thoughtfulness or kindness if you like, help us feel better about us, the me in all of us. if you could now imagine hundreds of small acts of kindness or courtesy ,like waiting your turn, letting some-one have your seat, opening a door for any-one and saying after you. simply saying the words good morning can change a whole day, for you or for some-one else. i've notice a shut in type of mentality of speaking to know-one, robot threw the day. there are allot of scholars on the subject, but there in a room somewhere to. how can you tell if there friend or foe unless you look them in the eye. most of us have never been good at first impressions. how ever these little things i talk about prove to be worth the time. i have no money , i can only give these little courtesies and kindness to each human that i come across. each time i can tell good from bad . this helps me in my next step, that is communication. the days of  chivalry and dignity are not gone. each one of has to remember not all humans have friends and family to communicate with. facebook friends is not friends. humans have to reach out  and be together. learn be live experience.
